Stickers do not necessarily have to be replaced every year, typically they are good for several years before the association changes the colors.

Lake Becky Updates –
Important Notice Regarding Dock Work
The Lake Association controls the lake bottom. Before building a new dock, adding onto an existing dock, or performing any work beyond routine maintenance, you must submit your plans to the Association via email before starting any work. Your submission must include a drawing or diagram of the proposed project.
All dock-related work must be approved by the Board in advance. Failure to obtain approval may result in being required to remove any unapproved work at your own expense.
This is not a new rule; it has been part of the Association’s regulations for many years.
10/22/2025
All the changes were approved by the members.
The bylaws have been modified. Moving forward, by vote of the membership, only individuals, trusts, and estates may be members of the Club. Corporations, LLCs, and similar entities are not permitted to be members of the Club. New rules and fees now apply to the transfer of membership, the creation of new memberships, and memberships in bad standing. Lakefront property created from the subdivision of an existing member’s lot must have at least one hundred (100) feet of waterfront to qualify for a new membership. Private or community docks intended for use by a specific group of members are prohibited. Short-term renters are no longer permitted to access the lake for fishing, swimming, or boating unless the property owner is currently participating in, and in good standing with, the approved rental program for 2025. The complete bylaws are linked above.

FIY- Transfer of membership
If a property is transferred or sold to someone other than an immediate family member, a club membership transfer fee of $2,500 will apply.
Some off-lake properties may qualify for club membership through deeded lake rights granted by the original lake developers.
New members, or former members who have not paid dues for more than five (5) years, are required to pay a one-time membership fee of $5,000. Please contact a board member for more information or if you think you have the right to join the club.
Lake Lowering Schedule – Permanent Shift to ODD Years
- Starting November 1, 2025, lake lowering will now occur only in ODD years to accommodate member preferences for higher lake levels during Clemson vs. Carolina home games.
- This also provides time for members to:
- Remove downed trees (some pose navigational hazards).
- Complete damage repairs from Hurricane Helene.
- New ODD-year lowering schedule:
- 2025, 2027, 2029: Lowering from 11/01 to 02/01 (subject to change).
Sediment Management in EVEN Years (2026 & 2028)
UPDATED 09/01/2025 (The even year short term lowering will be tabled until the July meeting)
- Due to mud and sediment buildup in many coves, the lake will be temporarily lowered in EVEN years to allow natural flushing by rainfall.
- 2026 & 2028 Lowering Schedule:
- Lowering begins: 12/01
- Refill begins: 02/01
- These EVEN-year lowerings are not permanent and will be evaluated for effectiveness.
Lake Safety & Rules Reminders
- Fish Committee:
Contact David Simmons for review/approval before placing any structure on the lake bottom. - Lake Patrol:
Lake Becky is private and for members and their guests only.
All members are encouraged to help enforce rules and ensure respectful and safe use of the lake.
Swimming & Boating Guidelines
- Swimming:
- Only swim within 25 feet of the shore, dock, or boat.
- Swim in no-wake coves for safety—never in the middle of the lake.
- Non-motorized Vessels:
- Kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, etc., should stay near shoreline or coves.
- Be cautious crossing open water; always watch for motorboats.
- Powered Watercraft:
- Operators must be aware of swimmers and small craft—you are liable for any injury.
- Operate boats with the same caution you would on a public road.
Boat Registration & Use Limits
- All hard-sided vessels must have a valid sticker before use:
- This includes kayaks, canoes, john boats, paddle boats, pontoons, runabouts, etc.
- Stickers are not instant—plan ahead.
- No exceptions, regardless of history or status (e.g., board member, family legacy).
- Exempt Vessels: Inflatables, tubes, floats.
- Limit: Max of 4 vessels per member in the lake at one time.
Let’s all do our part to keep Lake Becky safe, beautiful, and enjoyable for everyone!
